Position Overview:
Insight Contracting is seeking an experienced Master Plumber to join our maintenance team supporting residential and commercial properties throughout the Columbia area.

This position is responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance services. The successful candidate will hold a valid Master Plumber license in Boone County and/or the City of Columbia and be comfortable working independently while coordinating with office staff, maintenance technicians, and tenants.
Successful candidates will likely have experience in residential and commercial plumbing, sewer and drain maintenance, troubleshooting, and construction-related maintenance, and enjoy solving problems while providing dependable service.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose plumbing systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and operational standards.
  • Perform sewer and drain maintenance, including clearing blockages and operating plumbing cameras and diagnostic equipment.
  • Respond to plumbing-related work orders, complete unit turnover work, and participate in the company's emergency maintenance rotation.
  • Maintain organized company vehicles, work areas, plumbing tools, equipment, and inventory of maintenance supplies.
  • Accurately document completed work using the company's mobile service-tracking application and follow company documentation and vehicle tracking procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with management, tenants, vendors, and fellow employees while providing responsive customer service.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to complete projects efficiently and perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
  • Valid Master Plumber license in Boone County and/or the City of Columbia.
  • Four or more years of residential and commercial plumbing experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Experience with sewer line maintenance and light excavation is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This position includes work in occupied residential units, commercial properties, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Duties involve operating plumbing tools and equipment, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 80 pounds, and performing repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday. Employees must be able to safely inspect, diagnose, and repair plumbing systems while maintaining compliance with company safety standards.
