Pay: $18.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)
Benefits: Paid Vacation, Personal, and Sick Time; company reimbursement toward qualified medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, up to $400 per month, after 3 months of Full-Time work
Schedule: Regular M-F business hours with required on-call after hours and on weekends for one week every 2 or 3 weeks. Overtime opportunities are available but not typically required.

Position Overview:
Insight Contracting is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to support residential and commercial properties throughout the Columbia area.
This position performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work across multiple building trades. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, diagnosing problems, completing repairs, communicating with tenants, and documenting completed work.
Successful candidates will likely have experience in property maintenance, construction, remodeling, facilities maintenance, or related skilled trades and be comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, appliances, and other building systems within your areas of expertise.
- Respond to maintenance work orders and communicate professionally with tenants, property managers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Complete accurate job notes and document completed work using the company’s mobile service-tracking application.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Participate in the emergency maintenance rotation and assist with occasional snow removal and major weather-related emergencies.
- Work with fellow technicians and office staff to complete maintenance projects efficiently.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
- Two or more years of experience in at least two areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, or appliance repair preferred.
- Working knowledge of residential and/or commercial maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in additional trades.

Physical Requirements:
This is a hands-on position involving climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying materials up to 80 lbs., operating hand and power tools, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
