Pay: $18.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:
Insight Contracting is seeking reliable and motivated General Laborers to join our construction and maintenance team supporting residential and commercial properties throughout the Columbia area.
This position reports to a Foreman and assists with a variety of remodeling, maintenance, and repair projects. Work includes both occupied properties and vacant units, with responsibilities ranging from general repairs and unit turnovers to exterior maintenance and seasonal projects. Successful candidates should be dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Successful candidates will likely have experience in construction, remodeling, maintenance, or related trades and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with residential and commercial remodeling, repair, and general construction projects.
- Perform basic carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Complete unit turnover work, general property repairs, and exterior maintenance, including seasonal duties such as snow removal.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely while following company safety standards and using required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain organized company vehicles, work areas, tools, equipment, and material inventory.
- Accurately document completed work using the company's mobile service-tracking application and follow company documentation and vehicle tracking procedures.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, tenants, and vendors while supporting efficient project completion.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
- Valid driver's license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate common construction tools and equipment.
- Dependable work habits and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Two or more years of construction, remodeling, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position includes work in occupied residential units, commercial properties, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Duties involve climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 80 pounds, operating hand and power tools, and performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
